City of London

Teenaged organists from c. grade 5 to grade 8 level are invited to attend this day using two famous organs in the City of London.

What you can expect from this day
Two sessions in graded groups of repertoire coaching on Baroque and later music
Coaching on keyboard skills such as sight reading, transposition and score reading
A session on church service playing

The teachers
Daniel Moult, head of the organ department at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire and one of the UK's most respected teachers and recitalists. Daniel is also artistic director for the TOSE Week.
Simon Williams, director of the RCO's East, South, and South West region and, formerly organist and director of music at St George's Church, Hanover Square, London W1

The organs
St Lawrence Jewrythree-manual and pedal, mechanical action organ by Klais of Bonn (2001) in the church of the Corporation of London
St Michael Cornhillthree-manual and pedal, electric action action organ by Rushworth & Dreaper (1925 and 1975) and Nicholson (2010)

What to prepare
One or more pieces by a Baroque composer/Baroque composers
One or more pieces by a composer/composers from the nineteenth century to the present day
A hymn or anthem/service accompaniment (optional)
