The Royal College of Organists wins support from The Ouseley Trust

The Royal College of Organists (RCO) has been awarded £18,000 by The Ouseley Trust to support the RCO Academy education programme.

The grant, which covers a three-year period, will help to support the delivery of a wide range of events including the RCO St Giles Summer Course, The Organ Scholar Experience, Choral Directing Workshops and the year-round programme of RCO St Giles classes.

The Ouseley Trust is a registered charity set up to promote and maintain to a high standard the choral services of the Church of England, the Church in Wales and the Church of Ireland. It does this by making grants to cathedrals, choral foundations, parish churches, choir schools and other relevant institutions.

RCO Academy Director Simon Williams said: “Through the RCO Academy programme, the College is committed to providing a wide range of experiences for everyone involved in organ and choral music and, as a result, a great deal of our work directly concerns promoting and maintaining standards of music in worship.

“We are proud to share this objective with The Ouseley Trust and, with their support, we are confident that the Academy programme will continue to go from strength to strength.”
